Lloyd Smiley : Musician, Digital Music Producer, etc.
Welcome to my website!

This site represents a more permanent alternative to anything I might have posted on "social media" and around the interwebs...

Here, you can check out:
~ My tunes.
~ The productions I'm working on with local musicians.
~ Links to music videos and other sites I find interesting.
~ How to contact me.

Also, since GoDaddy has afforded me the space, this site also serves as a kind of scrapbook for my travels, photos, and random thoughts.

All of these things can be accessed using the links at the top of the page.

Enjoy!
~Lloyd Smiley.

If you'd like to contact me about recording your music project*, or whatever else, please use the link in the header above to contact me.

* please be advised that I currently work out of a one bedroom apartment, so I can't record things like drumkits or pipeorgans unless I make a housecall!

ABOUT ME:
* I'm from the capital of Canada: Ottawa.

* I'm a graduate of Digital Music Production, a program offered at Algonquin College in Ottawa.

* I've been making music for most of my life (nearly 30 years!), playing guitar since I was 19, and recording on my home computer and laptop for over 5 years.

* I also graduated with a B.A. in History / Philosophy from Carleton University. My main interest was in Historiography, or the writing of History. Who gets to write it and what gets left out is mind-blowing!

* Right now, I'm enjoying my work as a self-empLloyd music producer. My rates are comparatively excellent, and my heart is in it for the pure joy of our shared musical experience.

* I think it is important to archive the past, so that we are better equipped to learn from it.

* When I record something, it's like a photograph for the ears (aka phonograph). Music and sound can transport an audience parallel realities, and enhance visual images. This is what I'm aiming to do.

* Any artist's career cycles through changes. I feel that recording their work and thoughts during these constant transitions might help us all better understand ourselves.
